Geno Crandall has joined SL Benfica of the Champions League in Portugal. The former Zag has played all over the world in the Czech Republic, England, Germany, and Israel. During his time with the Leicester Riders in England from 2020-22, he was named the back-to-back British Basketball League’s Most Valuable Player.
Before joining
the Gonzaga program for the 2018-19 campaign, Crandall was with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, where he was named to the All-Big Sky Conference Second Team in 2017 and 2018. Under coach Mark Few, he served primarily as the backup point guard behind Josh Perkins, but was instrumental in his role as an energetic defender off the bench. The trip to the 2019 Elite Eight wouldn’t have been possible without his effort.
