Fallon Henley recently benefited from someone at Arby’s paying attention to wrestling gossip.
On her Instagram Stories, the WWE star posted an image of merchandise she had recently received from the fast-food chain. And for this, she has Cody Rhodes to — at least partially — thank.
During the July 1st episode of his What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Rhodes welcomed Henley as his guest. During the interview, Rhodes shared a humorous story that soon spread across social media involving AEW wrestler
Aaron Solo unsuccessfully shooting his shot with Henley.
At the time, all three wrestlers were working for AEW, where Henley competed under the name Tesha Price. According to Rhodes, Solo had developed a romantic interest in Henley.
“He often talked about you very fondly and very sincerely,” The American Nightmare said. “He’s like, ‘Oh, she’s so pretty, and she’s really smart.’”
Cody said that after receiving some encouragement, Aaron worked up the courage to speak to Henley when the wrestlers were at a hotel in Jacksonville, Florida.
“It’s important because the way I remember the story, with the correct food being Arby’s, you walked in and you had a bit of a social club there. I felt there was a group that was always together,” Rhodes said. “It was a good crew, and you guys always seemed to be in good spirits, which was nice for me because my time there was up and down.”
He continued: “You walked in, and you had a bag of Arby’s, and he literally nudged me. He goes, ‘I’m gonna go say hi to her. I’m gonna go. I’m gonna do it.’ I thought, ‘Great. This is you. Do it. Here he goes.’”
According to Rhodes, Solo made his move by the elevator where Henley was with her friends.
“You turned and you smiled at him. You were very nice. Then he just looked at you and he said, ‘Arby’s, huh?’” Rhodes said. “And you went—and I feel like I could hear you say it because we were far away at this point—’Yeah.’
“Then the elevator door shut, in my story, and you went away.”
Solo seemingly took the story being shared publicly in stride by posting a link to a write-up of the embarrassing moment and including a correction.
“It was Rally’s,” he wrote.
Despite Solo’s assertion, Arby’s capitalized on some free (and fun) publicity by rewarding Henley with a gift box.
On Instagram, Henley showed that the contents of the package she received from the company included hats and a T-shirt that reads “Hot Girls Eat Arby’s,” among other items.
She also shared a note from Arby’s that said: “We are honored to be a part of a pickup line, even if it didn’t work.
Instead go pick up some of your Arby’s favs – on us.
P.S. – Package includes a SmackDown ready fit.”
No word yet on if Aaron Solo received any free swag from Arby’s (or Rally’s).
