The Penguins got some mixed news on the injury front on Friday. The team practiced at noon after the big 7-0 road win in Philadelphia last night, minus one of their players. Forward Blake Lizotte, who just came off injured reserve to play last night, is dealing with a lower body injury now, after previously being out with what was described as an upper body injury in September. The team has not detailed further status beyond his unavailability for practice.
On the bright side, injured forward Ben Kindel returned to practice in a normal jersey and participated in line rushes, indicating he may already be cleared for contact and a possibility to play soon. Kindel worked in on a line with Connor Dewar and Elmer Soderblom with the team electing to keep the productive line of Fillip Hallander, Hendrix Lapierre and Ville Koivunen together for at least one more day.
The Pens celebrate the home opener of their 60th year tomorrow night against Montreal. That game kicks off a busy stretch of five games over the following eight days.
