Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report.
In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Becky Lynch challenging for the women’s world title, the Gingerbread Man returning as a zombie for Halloween, and Solo Sikoa cutting a promo that got a lot of people talking about AI and green screens, a lot of fortunes were changed.
With that
in mind, let’s see whose stock decreased the most this week:
Stock Down #3: Ricky Saints
One week ago, WWE needed someone to take a loss in the Sami Zayn / Trick Williams storyline, so they booked a six man tag team match and threw Ricky Saints in there to take the fall. This week, Ricky lost his rematch against AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fenix, and there’s no reason to book another rematch. Saints desperately needs a win over someone, but he may have to go back to Main Event to get it.
Stock Down #2: Joe Hendry
Roughly six months after getting called up to the main roster, Hendry is now getting squashed on WWE’s C-show Main Event. That’s about as bad as it gets for a wrestler’s booking.
Stock Down #1: Nikki Bella, Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton
Chelsea Green and Nikki Bella had a terrible WWE women’s championship match on this week’s SmackDown, capped off with an ending that made Hall of Famer Bella look like she doesn’t know how to pin her opponent. It didn’t do anything to dispel the notion that Bella is the worst world title challenger of 2026.
Meanwhile, Green didn’t win the match with her finishing move and instead looked surprised after she defeated Bella with a fluky roll up. Chelsea didn’t get a chance to respond to Liv Morgan’s post-match promo where she called Green lucky and a joke champion. Green once again needed IYO SKY to come over from Raw to help bail her out of trouble.
The bottom line is that Chelsea doesn’t come off like a top champion who could believably main event an episode of SmackDown, SNME, or a PLE. She instead looks like a mid-carder who is getting to temporarily run around with the WWE championship while the actual top stars are either injured or too busy with other storylines.
Then there’s Tiffy Time, who has now failed thrice to figure out how to properly cash in the Money in the Bank contract. She’s probably not as bad off as Bella and Green, because Stratton is going to eventually cash in (probably on Green) and win the title, but she looks really dumb every time WWE has her repeat this same exact angle.
Now let’s see whose stock increased the most this week:
Stock Up #3: Bayley
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria beat the shit out of each other in a very entertaining No Disqualification match on Raw. Bayley is the one who walked away with the win, which could be exactly what she needs to move up to the women’s world title storyline involving Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch, especially with Stephanie Vaquer currently out of action.
Stock Up #2: Sami Zayn
Zayn successfully defended the WWE championship this week against Je’Von Evans on Raw and Trick Williams on SmackDown. The champ backed up his recent talk about having the ability to survive any challenge he faces in WWE, which he will need to have a chance to beat Roman Reigns in the main event of Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
Stock Up #1: Finn Balor
Balor brought back The Demon as the big reveal for Danhausen’s top secret experiment on this week’s Very Nice, Very Evil SmackDown. The Demon destroyed GUNTHER and left him laying in the rubble of a table with a Coup de Grace off a ladder. A potential match between Balor and GUNTHER at Crown Jewel sounds way more interesting with The Demon involved, and could put Finn in position to be a legit threat to win the WWE championship on the other side of it.
There you have it, Cagesiders. Whose stock do you think changed the most this week?
