Michael Irvin (Dallas Cowboys legend) was recently on a podcast with former NFL players Jarvis Landry and Leonard Fournette (I think they have both retired?) when Irvin was asked about Puka Nacua. Irvin seemed to be rooting for Nacua to succeed despite any setbacks he’s had the last year. You can check out the quote(s) below. Irvin basically says that Nacua has the ability to either make good choices, or not with regards to how he handles stardom.
Of course, good choices, bad choices, what’s private
anymore and what’s not? That can be debated whether we like it or not. That being said, Nacua was involved with some negative headlines several months in a row as the NFL season was winding up and then winding down.
No one wants to be involved in negative headlines, and once it happens once, people look for it to happen again. We’ll see the type of year Nacua has, but Irvin is rooting for him. I would guess a lot of people are rooting for Puka.
And say what you want because I’ll listen! And I’ll add Irvin is one of the best wide receivers to ever do it with multiple Super Bowl victories. He was a heck of a player is my understanding.
Nacua’s been a heck of a player too, but no Super Bowl. Does that change this year? We’ll all be watching.
