The Kentucky Wildcats are on the verge of reaching bowl eligibility, but in order to get there, they’ll have to win as an underdog in the final week of the college football regular season.
On Saturday,
November 29, the 5-5 Cats will take on the 7-4 Louisville Cardinals inside L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12 PM ET on the ACC Network.
If the Cats can best their rival on the road, they’ll miraculously become bowl eligible after starting the season 2-5.
Both football programs will be on the heels of demoralizing losses and are desperate for a win heading into 2026. Jeff Brohm and company got destroyed 38-6 by SMU in Dallas over the weekend. The Cats, meanwhile, lost 45-17 at Vanderbilt, though at least they can take some solace in the fact that the Dores will make the College Football Playoff with a win over Tennessee this week.
That being said, the oddsmakers at FanDuel don’t see much in separating the two struggling squads other than home-field advantage.
FanDuel Sportsbook has Louisville listed as a -2.5 favorite with the over/under set at 47.5 points. The line actually opened last week at 6.5 points, but the Cardinals have since had several key players ruled out for this week, including wideout Chris Bell, who could be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The early weather forecast suggests it will be cold and cloudy. The temperature for the noon kickoff could be in the 30s, but as of now, there is no expectation of precipitation.
After being humiliated by Diego Pavia and Vanderbilt, you can only hope that the Cats come out with some fight that translates into an important rivalry win.
