He’s got an NXT title match tomorrow night and a No Holds Barred fight with Kevin Owens on Friday (which was already taped last night — spoilers here), but CM Punk still had time for Instagram today.
One of the things that popped up on Punk’s timeline was WWE’s announcement that the just-announced John Cena Classic on Dec. 14 in Orlando, Florida will be followed the next day by an Avengers: Doomsday-themed edition of Worlds Collide featuring talent from NXT and AAA in the same venue, the ESPN Wide
World of Sports Complex.
Punk is excited about them, commenting that he plans to “work both shows”.

With his current schedule and based on current rumors, it doesn’t seem Punk will be running NXT any time soon. But he’s been working with the developmental program ever since returning to WWE a few years ago, and both The Cena Classic and Worlds Collide will put a spotlight on NXT.
Punk’s also embraced his role as a corporate representative since signing with WWE in 2023, and corporate representatives will be needed at events being promoted as an expansion of WWE and Disney’s partnership. And hey, the man’s got an acting career. Can’t pass up a chance to get in Disney or Marvel’s good graces, right?
I’m just saying, I won’t be surprised if Punk’s not just goofing here and we do see him working both The John Cena Classic and Worlds Collide.
Either way, his comment won’t hurt ticket sales when they start next week.
