Hard to believe eight years have gone by since the people of Knox County, Tennessee elected the Devil’s Favorite Demon to be their Mayor. That’s one of the things WWE called Kane, the horror-themed character Glenn Jacobs portrayed for the company over most of his 20+ year career in pro wrestling.
But Jacobs has just been Mayor to his neighbors since 2018. Since that time he’s been inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame, and had his political career embraced by fellow WWE Hall of Famer, and United States
President, Donald Trump. With term limits ending Kane’s time as Knox County’s chief executive, he and President Trump both talked up the other’s prospects in the Volunteer State.
Undertaker’s kayfabe brother hasn’t committed to anything yet, however. He passed on making a run for the Tennessee Governor’s job this year, so it likely won’t be open again until 2030.
That will give the 59-year-old Jacobs and his family — which includes his wife, daughters, and grandchildren — time to consider what’s next. Knoxville’s 6 News covered the end of his time as Knox County Mayor, and their Jack Ziskin writes:
When asked about his political future, Jacobs said he would have to consider whether or not it would be the right decision for his family.
He added that running Knox County is a big job, and he would have to consider if he has the right skill set to run for statewide office and represent all 95 counties in Tennessee.
We’ll see what he decides, and what the people of Tennessee think about that decision. Will we see Kane show up for anything in the interim? He hasn’t wrestled since 2021’s Royal Rumble, but it’s a never say never business…
