Bayern Munich have won all eleven of their matches across all competitions so far, the most recent of which came in the season’s first installment of der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz
Arena in the Bundesliga. Bayern were 2-1 winners on the night, further solidifying their place at the top of the Bundesliga table and Vincent Kompany’s side show absolutely no signs of slowing down. What makes it all the more impressive is that the German Rekordmeister have been without both Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala through injuries so far this season, and they’re both not expected to make returns to action until next month.
Bayern have opened up a five-point gap over second-placed Dortmund in the Bundesliga table and are also (at the time this is being written) at the top of the UEFA Champions League table after two matches played. They are already being backed to win the double of the league title and Champions League even though it’s early days, but no one seems to be able to stop them at the moment.
Former Bayern player and sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić recently spoke about the club’s form and said that he feels no other team in the Bundesliga will be able to keep pace with them so long as all of their key players stay fit and healthy. “If they continue like this, then no team [in the Bundesliga] can keep up. Now we can only hope that everyone stays fit and that the injured players Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Josip Stanišić slowly return so that FC Bayern can still be in top form during the crucial periods in January, February, and March. In their current form, Bayern will beat the opponents they face in the Champions League. But the real stakes will be played in the new year,” Brazzo told Sport1 (via @iMiaSanMia).
He also made a pointing of lauding just how unbelievably good Harry Kane has been for Bayern, and especially so far this season. He has already tallied 19 goals and 3 assists from 11 appearances across all competitions, taking his overall goals tally at Bayern to 104 from 107 matches. Quite frankly, he is setting the world afire at Bayern, even more so than people might have anticipated when he made the move from Tottenham Hotspur.
“He’s simply the best striker in the world. If he stays healthy, Bayern will have a chance to win many titles this season. He’s a top player and worth every penny. Anyone who said Kane cost too much money was wrong,” Brazzo said of the England skipper.
