Barcelona have announced that promising young striker Oscar Gistau has signed a contract extension at the club that runs until 2028.
Gistau is a highly-rated attacker who is expected to play a big role for Barcelona Atletic next season along with Hamza Abdelkarim.
Ahead of the start of the 2026-27 campaign, Gistau has committed his future to the Catalans.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona and Òscar Gistau have reached an agreement to extend the striker’s contract, which will keep him at the Club until 30 June 2028. The agreement also includes the option of extending this commitment by a further season.”
Barcelona have struggled to bring strikers through the club’s academy and into the first team in recent years but there’s real excitement that Gistau could be about to buck that trend.
The 18-year-old saw his 2025-26 season disrupted by injury but will be hoping he can make an impact at the club in the coming campaign.
