The college baseball transfer portal is a week away from opening, and three Scarlet Knights have already made clear their intentions to transfer, according to The Knight Report. Unlike the Basketball and Football transfer portals, the college baseball transfer portal window is much longer, opening on Monday, June 1st, and closing on Tuesday, June 30th.
The three players who already announced their intentions to transfer are freshman infielder Julius Rosado, freshman infielder Joey Erace, and sophomore
RHP Andrew Rondini.
During his freshman season with Rutgers, Rosado recorded 7 hits, 12 RBI’s, and 10 runs for the Knights. On defense, Rosado recorded 27 put-outs, 47 assists, and 4 errors while recording a fielding average of .949. He was the No.184 prospect overall in the 2026 recruitment class.
Erace, on the other hand, recorded 13 hits, 1 home run, 7 RBI’s, and 13 runs for the Knights during his freshman season. On defense, Erace recorded 41 put-outs, 42 assists, and 3 errors while recording a fielding average of .965. He was the No.19 prospect in New Jersey coming out of the 2026 class.
Rondini, the only pitcher to announce his departure so far, pitched in 11 games for 25 innings in 2026, recording 20 strikeouts and an estimated runs against average of 2.16. He surrendered 17 hits, 2 home runs, and 10 walks during his time at the plate last season.
Rutgers baseball had a rough go of it in the transfer portal last season, losing a lot of pitching depth in the process, and it showed this season. However, with the changes made in positions of power at the university, in particular, the hiring of AD Keli Zinn, they should have more resources to go out and get what they need while retaining those they want to keep.
