Kentucky football continued its strong push on the recruiting trail Friday, landing a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Elijah Brown, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals, giving the Wildcats their seventh commitment in the 2027 class and a second pledge this week.
Brown, a 6-3, 290-pound defensive lineman from Alabama, chose Kentucky over a competitive list of offers that included Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Tulane, and others. He is ranked as the No. 217 overall player, the No. 32 defensive lineman,
and the No. 14 overall player in the state of Alabama in the 2027 class, according to 247 Sports.
Brown visited Kentucky at the end of March, and that trip proved to be a key moment in his recruitment before ultimately announcing his commitment to the Wildcats.
His addition continues what has been a productive stretch for Kentucky on the 2027 recruiting trail, as the Wildcats have now secured multiple commitments this week alone while pushing their total class number to seven.
Kentucky’s 2027 commitments now include Larron Westmoreland (S), Ty Ashley (LB), Brady Hull (IOL), Matthias Burrell (IOL), Bryian Duncan Jr. (ATH), Miguel Wilson (CB), and Elijah Brown (DL).
As the class continues to grow, Kentucky is emphasizing size in the trenches and athleticism on defense as the foundation of its future recruiting haul.
