According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, former Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis has signed with the Miami Dolphins on a three-year, $67.5 million contract. Miami notably hired head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan from Green Bay this offseason. The team also released Tua Tagovailoa this morning, a move they needed to execute to get this deal done.
With the $22.5 million average per year number on his deal, Green Bay should receive a third-round compensatory draft
pick for this loss (which they’ll be awarded in 2027), as long as they don’t offset it with a compensatory free agent. For example, tackle Dan Moore, whom the Pittsburgh Steelers lost last cycle, signed for a $21 million APY and is expected to net Pittsburgh a third-round pick in this upcoming draft.
More to come.
