Dillon Danis is out of his December Misfits fight, but he may be preparing for an even bigger, more lucrative legal battle against the UFC.
Danis was supposed to compete on the December 20, 2025 ‘Fight Before Christmas’ card in Dubai against Anthony Taylor. But after getting jumped cageside
by members of Islam Makhachev’s entourage at UFC 322, the fight is off. According to a Misfits press release, doctors were not willing to clear him for the date.Now former opponent Logan Paul is sharing some insight
into what he believes is an impending big money lawsuit Danis is setting up against everyone he considers responsible for the situation. That could include fighters like Magomed “John Pork” Zaynukov, who was caught on camera sucker punching Danis. And it could include the UFC and Madison Square Garden.
“I would bet a lot of money that he is preparing to sue Madison Square Garden and UFC,” Paul said during a Kick stream with Adin Ross. “His argument would be that when he went to Madison Square Garden he didn’t expect to be jumped by ten guys.”
Danis skipped out on a court date related to the ongoing revenge porn lawsuit with Paul’s wife Nina Agdal, and he used the UFC 322 brawl as his excuse.
“He’s going through all the concussion protocols,” Paul said. “He actually didn’t show up to a deposition and blamed his concussion protocol. He pulled out of his fight, and so he’s gonna be able to claim damages. If he has a real concussion. He probably doesn’t. But he’s playing the game, and he’s very likely going to sue them, and probably win.”
We’re not personal injury lawyers, but it looks like Danis has a case … up to a point. He could sue his attackers and win easily. Suing the UFC and Madison Square Garden would make thing more complicated, and burn a whole lot of bridges. That’s not something serial bridge arsonist Danis ever seems to consider, so we wouldn’t be surprised if he went big.
It will be very interesting to see how this story develops. There’s plenty of evidence that the UFC has taken a hands off approach to letting their fighters throw down in and around arenas on fight week, with Dana White shrugging off heinous incidents with “It’s the fight business!” as his main excuse.
A lawsuit like this was always just waiting to happen, it just looks like it’s going to be launched by the most unsympathetic person possible. And in a court of law, how far does “But your honor, he’s a dick!” carry you?
