Naturally, player transfers generate more hype in the footballing world. Fans care more about footballers that can bring the most excitement to the pitch versus executives who might be better at accounting. That is likely why reports of Bayern looking to VfB Stuttgart’s marketing director Rouven Kasper as a replacement for the outgoing Michael Diederich rather went under the radar. But, weeks after Diederich has already left, Bayern are still looking to fill the gap.
And, according to Kicker reporter
Benjamin Hofmann and Georg Holzner, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, the decision on Kasper should be made soon:
Bayern maintain an interest in VfB Stuttgart’s marketing director Rouven Kasper to replace the departing Michael Diederich on the executive board. Both Bayern and VfB expect Kasper to make his decision in the coming days. Stuttgart are offering Kasper terms beyond 2028 to deter Bayern’s interest.
Kasper was already on Bayern’s books from 2016-2022 and worked his way up to the position of the so-called President Asia, helping to expand Bayern’s horizons in Asia and China in particular. He then left for Stuttgart to become their Chief Marketing & Sales Officer. This makes Kasper a very familiar entity to Bayern.
