Yes. More than likely, the Texas Longhorns are afraid to play Notre Dame in a college football game.
While that’s definitely a funny statement, it’s also further proof that Texas has no freaking clue about how pretty much anything works. The Longhorns are convinced that it was the loss to Ohio State in week one that kept them out of the college football playoff last year — but not the other two losses.
Texas has been making weird statements ever since, and now we get MORE vocal cowardice this week.
College football has changed dramatically over the last two decades. For a majority of blue-bloods and other top powers, rather than work toward actually winning a national championship — they’re just working to have the perception of a team that’s trying to win a championship, while abandoning all principles of actually being a championship level program.
