Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.
This year’s All Star competition is a mini tournament involving three teams, Team World, Team Stars, and Team Stripes. The first stage is basically a round-robin of the three teams, with the top two advancing to the championship round. It’s entirely
possible that all three teams could end up with 1-1 records going into the championship, which would end up with some kind of tiebreaker knocking out one of the teams. The first tiebreaker will be point differential over the first two games, and if it goes beyond that, I guess they’ll figure it out.
Two Spurs players and the head coach are participating in the games: Victor Wembanyama is on Team World, and De’Aaron Fox is a member of the Stripes, coached by Mitch Johnson. The schedule is as follows:
- 4:00 PM CT—G1: World vs Stars
- 4:55 PM CT—G2: Winner of G1 vs Stripes
- 5:25 PM CT—G3: Loser of G1 vs Stripes
- 6:10 PM CT—Championship (Top 2 teams from G1-G3)
Game Prediction:
All three teams end up with a zero point differential in the initial three games. The team that is eliminated will be determined by a game of rock paper scissors at midcourt, using the multiplayer rules approved by the WRPSA (World Rock Paper Scissors Association).
