The Cleveland Browns organization has a long, storied history with many legends who have left a major impact. Browns fans have their favorite players from so many different eras of this team. When it comes to the Browns’ most loved players since the franchise returned in 1999, it would be difficult to decide which of these three legends to start, bench, and cut: Myles Garrett, Nick Chubb, and Joe Thomas .
Start: Joe Thomas
Thomas’ consistency throughout the course of his Hall of Fame career earns him
a starting role in this competition. He played 10,363 consecutive snaps in Cleveland and had ten straight Pro Bowl selections. As one of the greatest left tackles in the history of the NFL, it would be hard to put him in any other spot.
Bench: Myles Garrett
With multiple Defensive Player of the Year honors, Garrett is earning the second-best spot in this particular exercise – bench. He really took over the Browns’ defense for many seasons, and opposing offenses feared every time they had to go up against him. He would certainly have a case to start over Thomas, but Thomas’ resume is hard to overlook.
Cut: Nick Chubb
Making this cut would be a tough pill to swallow for many Cleveland fans. He was certainly a fan favorite during his years in Cleveland, but when you put him up against the Hall of Fame career of Joe Thomas and the future Hall of Famer Myles Garrett, it is the only choice to be made.
Let me know what you think in the comments – Who would you start, bench, and cut from these Browns’ legends?
