Tennessee basketball made a splash on Tuesday afternoon, landing four-star wing Ralph Scott from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Scott announced his decision just minutes ago, choosing the Volunteers over Purdue, Houston and Texas A&M.
Scott, a 6-8, 190 pound small forward,
is Tennessee’s first commitment of the cycle. According to 247Sports, Scott checks in as the 35th ranked player in the class of 2026. The fast-rising prospect had a productive summer, soaring up recruiting rankings. Today he becomes the next in line to join the Rick Barnes pipeline in Knoxville.
Scott obviously brings plenty of length to the table, operating with a 7-1 wingspan. Rick Barnes likely sees plenty of potential in that frame, particularly on the defensive end off the floor. Scott is regarded offensively as a guy that’s still developing, but the athletic upside is obvious.
Tennessee will have five-star wing Nate Ament this season, but he’ll likely turn pro if all goes well. Scott could help fill those shoes down the road, going to work in the proven Tennessee basketball program.
