No Limit Boxing held a press conference today to announce an Australian grudge match between Nikita Tszyu and Michael Zerafa on January 16th at a location to be determined.
Tszyu (11-0, 9 KO), son of Kostya
and brother of Tim, excelled as an amateur before leaving the sport in his teens to pursue a career in architecture. He would ultimately return to boxing and make his professional debut in 2022, making up for lost time with a string of rapid-fire bouts and ultimately working himself into the WBO and IBF rankings at 154.
Zerafa (34-5, 22 KO) notably split a pair of bouts with Jeff Horn, took out Anthony Mundine and Isaac Hardman over a four-fight span, then got pasted by Erislandy Lara in a March 2024 title defense. There’s no shortage of bad blood between him and the Tszyu family, but while Tim bore the brunt of his ire, it’s Nikita who will be carrying the torch.
