Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has addressed speculation about his future
after linking up with the France national team for the World Cup.There has been speculation this summer that Barcelona are willing to listen to offers to Kounde, but the defender says he wants to stay.
“I have a contract until 2030. In my mind, that’s quite clear. With the French national team, those things come second. I’m focused on the competition until further notice. I’m at Barça and I hope to stay there,” he told reporters.
Kounde was also asked about his form this season and admitted he has not been at his very best for the Catalan giants.
“Personally, it was a season below my standards,” he added.
“New competition now, I feel good. I want to finish by contributing as much as possible to the French team.”
Kounde and France are in Group I at World Cup 2026 and will face Senegal, Iraq and Norway.
