The number two overall pick in the NFL Draft always enters the league with his fanbase expecting big things his rookie year.
Jets fans are excited to have David Bailey. The hope is that he eventually turns into a transformational player for the defense and becomes a standout pass rusher.
What are the expectations for year one? We took a look in this week’s SB Nation Reacts poll. Our question was whether Bailey would hit double digit sacks in year one.
I think it was a bit of a trick question because
Bailey doesn’t necessarily need to have 10+ sacks in order for his rookie season to be considered a success. Of course he can’t put up like 2 sacks and expect fans to be happy, but a tally of 8-9 along with a high pressure rate would be an excellent sign for his future. Of course a player this talented might dominate the league from the second he steps on the field, but Jets fans only need to see him look the part. He can take the next step in year two.
