TNA is stacking the Destination X PPV by bringing back a variety of specialty gimmick matches.
Santino Marella broke the news. Destination X is about taking risks. Ultimate X is one of the riskiest matches in TNA, and there will be two of them on PPV. The women will compete to determine the #1 contender for the Knockouts Championship, and the men will compete to determine the #1 contender for the X-Division Championship. In addition, the World X-Cup returns. There will be two four-way matches with
wrestlers from around the world. The winners advance to the final on that same night.
TNA generally runs a few Ultimate X matches for the men each year. Cedric Alexander won Ultimate X earlier this year. Ultimate X for the women is more rare. Tasha Steelz won the first women’s Ultimate X in 2022. Gisele Shaw won the second in 2024. This round marks the third time.
The last World X-Cup was in 2021. Past formats have varied between tournaments and team competitions. Tournament winners include Chris Sabin, Samoa Joe, Dezmond Xavier, and Ace Austin.
Destination X takes place on Sunday, November 15 from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The updated card includes:
- TNA World Championship: Leon Slater (c) vs. Trey Miguel
- Ultimate X for #1 contender to Knockouts Championship
- Ultimate X for #1 contender to X-Division Championship
- World X-Cup
