When Van Demark signed the Minnesota Vikings’ offer sheet and the Bills decided not to match it, $3.5 million in salary cap space opened up, which Beane used to sign wide receiver Trent Sherfield, guard/center Austin Corbett, and center Lloyd Cushenberry III to one-year contracts on Thursday.

Sherfield spent the 2023 season with the Bills, catching 11 passes for 86 yards with a touchdown (pictured above against the Miami Dolphins). Sherfield excelled as a downfield blocker for the Bills, bringing a physical element to Buffalo’s offense, and he was also invaluable as a special teams gunner, appearing on 35% of special teams snaps.
