Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund provided an encouraging update on Jamal Musiala, revealing that attacker has been training normally with the team for the past 7–10 days and is in a positive frame of mind.
“Jamal has been training normally with the team for the past 7-10 days. He’s positive and in good spirits. As we’ve often said, it is not a new situation for him, he’s handling it well. We’ll always decide day by day. He could be back in the squad tomorrow, let’s wait and see. He’s had
a good training week. Both Jamal and us are positive,” Freund told Sky Germany journalist Torben Hoffmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
That leaves the door open for Musiala to return to the squad as soon as tomorrow vs. Schalke 04.
After his extended absence, Bayern Munich are understandably taking things one day at a time. The important development is that Musiala has now completed a full week of team training without any reported setbacks.
Freund’s comments also reinforce the positive mood surrounding Musiala’s recovery. The player himself is feeling good, the club is encouraged by his progress, and a return to the squad could now be imminent.
The final decision will come after another assessment, but Bayern Munich supporters have plenty of reason to be optimistic.
