After all the waiting, it looks like we might be finally getting ready to exhale some cash in the direction of Manchester United, and get a certain Alejandro Garnacho in return. Hurray?
This move has been rumored for seemingly the entire summer, but both parties have been waiting to see how all their others businesses were going to shake out. On our end, it looks like we’re finally getting some movement in the Christopher Nkunku (AC Milan) and Nicolas Jackson (Bayern Munich) situations, so the Garnacho
machine is starting to gear up as well.
The Telegraph report that we are “close” to agreeing a deal “worth between £35-40m”. Fabrizio Romano adds that the reported value is for the “total package” — i.e. inclusive of add-ons and bonuses. So the fixed fee is presumably something less than that, even! This signing may feel a bit frivolous, but if Garnacho can make a positive impact, it just might turn into a good deal.
