We’ve got our SB Nation Reacts results for this week ready to roll, so let’s take a look at what fans of the Minnesota Vikings have to say about our favorite team this week, shall we?
Our first question for this week, as it always is, has to do with whether or not everyone is confident with the direction of the team. And, coming after the first loss of the season in Week 8, the answer is a resounding, “No. . .no, we are not.”
Of those who responded to our poll for this week, just 17% are confident
that a team currently sporting a 6-1 record is moving in the right direction. On the surface, that sounds a bit absurd, but honestly. . .it’s not terribly difficult to understand. The offense, once again, struggled to score against a defense that it really shouldn’t have struggled against, and the defense eventually just wore down as the offense wasn’t able to stay on the field. It’s the same formula that we’ve seen repeatedly this season, and something has to change going forward.
And, a few days ago, something did.
Which leads us to our second question for a week, which asked about whether or not the team needed to make a change at quarterback. Now, keep in mind that we posted this question before the team formally made the announcement that Carson Wentz would start at quarterback against the Buffalo Bills on Monday, but I’m not sure how much it would have affected the results.
Of those who responded to our poll, 78% agreed that a change needed to be made at quarterback in some form. There were 45% who said that the Vikings should go to Wentz, which is what has happened. . .so far. Another 33% believe that the Vikings should make a trade, which is something that could still happen before the NFL trade deadline, which arrives this Tuesday at 3:00 PM Central Time. The other 22% believe that the Vikings should stay the course at quarterback, which simply tells me that there were more Bears, Lions, and Packers fans voting in the poll than usual this week.
As a bit of a bonus question this week, GA Skol has put a poll over in the feed about whether or not the shift to Wentz gives the Vikings a better chance to win on Monday night against the Bills.
Those are our SB Nation Reacts results for this week, ladies and gentlemen! Thank you, as always, to everyone who took the time to participate in this week’s polls, and keep your eyes out for next week’s questions!
