What is the story about?
The Canada men’s national basketball team defeated Jamaica, 116-78 in Hamilton, Ontario on Monday in Group B of the FIBA World Cup Americas Qualifiers.
With the exception of the beginning of the game, the Canadians ran the Jamaicans out of the gym. They led for nearly the entire match. At one point, Canada was leading by 41 points.
Washington Wizards forward Kyshawn George scored 10 points for the Canadians while Andrew Nembhard led with 17. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 16 more.
For the Jamaicans,
Andrew Thelwell led with 25 points but he also played nearly 37 minutes in the game.
Canada is now in the second round of the qualifiers. Their next game is on Aug. 27 when they play Panama.
