It’s been really nice to see different players given the opportunity to join Iraola for the pre-game pressers and yesterday it was Araujo’s turn and his smile alone was worth it. As expected there were questions asked about the possibilities of the loan move being made a permanent one and Araujo gave a very honest answer without closing any doors either way.
“It’s very early to talk about these things, I’m really happy to be here, my family are also very happy but it’s a bit early to be talking about these things.”
No surprises with that answer and all Araujo can do is give everything for the team and enjoy his time here living in Liverpool along with his family because their are other factors involved which include both clubs and probably most importantly head coach Iraola.
From what else Araujo had to say it’s no doubt he is up to the challenge and is fully embracing this moment of his football career.
“It depends on the personality of each player and how they (face) that challenge. I knew it was a new challenge coming to the Premier League but from the first moment I arrived I had no doubts I had to give everything here. And that’s how I live it.”
“It’s not easy to be in big sides, but that’s what we came to do. That’s the work we have to do.”
Encouraging words that have been matched by Araujo’s performances so far and if proof was needed then the way the Anfield faithful have taken to him speaks very loudly because the one thing that wins the hearts of Liverpool supporters is honest effort from the players.
Araujo also gave a little insight to the passion of the supporters and how it has helped him and his family settle into the new environment of Liverpool.
“I have settled in really well. People here are very intense. When you go down the street or go out for dinner, you see how much they live for football. It is important to feel loved by the fans. I feel represented by the fans when I go out onto the pitch.”
All great things to hear and now that Araujo has his first goal as a Red and happily taking up the role as right-back as well center-back this writer is certainly cheering him on with the hope that there can be some silverware by the end of the season and an even bigger smile beaming from Araujo.
