Barcelona have suffered more injury misery today as exciting youngster Juan Hernandez has suffered an ACL injury and will now undergo surgery.
The 18-year-old has caught the eye this season with Juliano Belletti’s Barcelona Atletic side and was rewarded with a new contract in February that runs until 2028.
However, Hernandez is now set for a lengthy spell out of the game after sustaining a serious injury.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“Medical tests have shown that #BarçaAtlètic player Juan Hernández
has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. In the coming days, he will undergo surgical intervention.”
The injury is the latest serious injury to affect Belletti’s side this season. The Italian has seen several key players ruled out throughout the campaign which has hurt their hopes of promotion.
Barca Atletic currently have just two games of the season left to play and are battling for the final play-off spot.
