Five Eagles players on the trade block heading into training camp – PhillyVoice WR Darius Cooper. Cooper had a great camp and an encouraging preseason showing as an undrafted rookie receiver out of Tarleton State last season. He made the 53-man roster and managed to stay on it the entire season, appearing in 13 games. He made 9 receptions for 92 yards on 11 targets, while playing something of a “dirty work” role in the Eagles offense after Johnny
Wilson was lost for the season with an injury. Although the Eagles’ starting receivers may not be as strong on paper as they were a year ago when A.J. Brown was on the roster, they do have better depth with the additions of first-round pick Makai Lemon, trade acquisition Dontayvion Wicks, and free agent signing Hollywood Brown. Wilson is also back, and he had a good spring. Cooper could make more sense for a non-contending team willing to use a roster spot on a young prospect with traits that can be developed. Projected cost: Some other back-of-the-roster depth guy at a position of need.
Makai Lemon is a versatile player – BGN
Former Eagles undrafted free agent Reed Blankenship earned a huge new contract with the Houston Texans this offseason, and he and Cooper DeJean welcomed Blankenship’s new teammate Calen Bullock on their Exciting Mics podcast. Bullock overlapped with Makai Lemon for one year at USC and he recalled when the Eagles’ rookie wide receiver actually played in games at cornerback. Bullock explained that a lot of their corners were hurt that season, and Lemon played both receiver and corner in high school, so they had to call him over to play on defense. The WR took 18 defensive snaps (per Pro Football Focus) his rookie season in 2023, but eventually made his way back to the offensive side of the ball.

Kubena: Roseman should continue fielding calls on Jalen Carter. As Zach said, he has the talent to be one of the best defensive players in the NFL. His value as a 25-year-old with two years left on his rookie deal should be very, very high. The Eagles aren’t ready to commit long-term to a player, however dominant, who was ejected in Week 1 last year for spitting on Dak Prescott, dealt with nagging shoulder issues that required medical attention, and experienced an overall dip in his game. Other teams have expressed their interest in Carter in the past. The Eagles should get at least one first-round pick in such a deal. Could they get two? Or something close? And which player(s) could they trade for by pairing that haul with the 2028 first-round pick they received for Brown?
2026 NFL offseason: Top impact signings, trades, draft picks – ESPN
Riq Woolen, CB (signed by Philadelphia Eagles). One of the most underrated signings in free agency, Woolen fits well on the perimeter of Vic Fangio’s defense. Woolen can align opposite Quinyon Mitchell, giving the Eagles two long cover corners who can open and run. (Meanwhile, Cooper DeJean can play the slot in nickel sets.) Woolen allowed 5.0 yards per target in coverage last season, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, which ranked fourth best among the 87 defensive backs who were targeted at least 50 times. […] Makai Lemon, WR (drafted by Philadelphia Eagles) With A.J. Brown now in New England, Lemon steps into the No. 2 role opposite DeVonta Smith under new coordinator Sean Mannion. Lemon has the route traits and foot quickness to manipulate coverage, and he can accelerate through the ball to create easy yards after the catch. He is willing to work the heavy traffic areas of the field, which should lead to targets in Mannion’s system — one that should use more three-step and play-action concepts than previous seasons in Philly.

A bunch of changes on offense. The Eagles were far too talented last season to finish with the NFL’s No. 24-ranked offense. So after the season, they moved on from Kevin Patullo and launched an exhaustive offensive coordinator search that eventually led them to Sean Mannion. The former NFL backup quarterback has been coaching for just two seasons but the Eagles are excited about his potential with a Shanahan-style scheme he’s bringing to Philly. This offense will look very different in 2026 than what we have seen in the first five years under head coach Nick Sirianni.

Jalen Hurts. Was there an NFL player under a bigger microscope than Hurts this offseason? Between the ESPN report that detailed friction concerning Hurts, the A.J. Brown saga, the constant debates over his standing among NFL quarterbacks, Hurts dominated headlines all offseason. So can he block out that noise and silence his doubters with a strong camp? It’d be easy to say “yes” and just move on, but the reality is that Hurts is at a crossroads. He’s learning another new offense and it’s drastically different from the last one he ran. His new OC gushed about him in his first news conference, but can that honeymoon phase survive a weak training camp/slow start to the season? That’s not to mention the fact that Hurts has a handful of unproven new weapons trying to replace a No. 1 wide receiver in Brown. How Hurts deals with these hurdles is easily the most intriguing camp storyline. His future in Philadelphia will be in question all season. He can quell some of that noise with a decent July and August.

COOPER DEJEAN — We should have known DeJean was on track to produce a special 2025 campaign when he intercepted Patrick Mahomes and returned it for a touchdown in Super Bowl LIX. His first career pick in the final game of his rookie season was a preview of what was to come in a splashy Year 2. After securing a Lombardi Trophy to close the 2024 season, DeJean saw his role increase in 2025 and matched the expectation, tallying 16 passes defensed, two interceptions, 93 tackles and a -12.1 target EPA in 580 coverage snaps, per Next Gen Stats. Inserted at slot corner, DeJean formed one half of Philadelphia’s first-team All-Pro defensive back pair with Quinyon Mitchell, taking home the prestigious honor (plus a Pro Bowl nod) while playing an integral role in the Eagles’ eighth-ranked pass defense. He’s only 23, yet he’s already proven himself as an elite nickelback with plenty of road left in front of him.

This team is continuously on the lips of the media every year and it’s no wonder with an owner like Jerry Jones, who loves/craves the headline-grabbing free publicity. The Dallas Cowboys report to Oxnard, California this week to kick off training camp with zero headline-grabbing stories. This hasn’t been the case in the past. Usually at this time entering training camp the Cowboys are still facing the never-ending contract negotiations with one player or another. In 2023, All-Pro RG Zack Martin missed a portion of training camp attempted to renegotiate his contract. The following year in 2024 contract negotiation surrounded the futures of both Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, the latter of which ended up missing the majority of training camp before signing an extension.

Massive renovation, expansion of NY Giants’ headquarters underway – Big Blue View
The New York Giants on Monday announced the extent of a massive renovation project at their East Rutherford, N.J. headquarters. In a statement released by the team, the Giants say the renovations will “expand and transform their team headquarters, anchored by a new and modern football-focused facility designed to elevate player performance, preparation, and recovery.” Work began several months ago, and is expected to be completed in advance of the 2028 season.
Bills release alternate uniforms so ugly that even die-hard Bills fans hate them – SB Nation
It really shouldn’t be so difficult to come up with unique twists on NFL uniforms that still look good, but here we are. The Buffalo Bills released their new alternates for 2026 on Monday that they’re calling “Nickel City,” presumably because it cost them five cents worth of AI tokens to design it.
