According to a report from Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl still has a lot of work ahead of him this summer and not all of it will be easy.
Eberl is being tasked with several key player sales that could be difficult:
Eberl is now being called upon to streamline the roster and find new clubs for players who have no future at Bayern. This is proving to be quite complicated. That’s because Bayern has not yet received any offers for players like Bryan Zaragoza, Sacha Boey,
or João Palhinha, who were recently sent out on loan. According to reports from Portugal, Benfica Lisbon is said to be interested in Palhinha, with a potential transfer fee of 25 million euros being discussed. That’s roughly half of what Bayern paid Fulham for Palhinha in 2024. The club faces the prospect of a loss on the deal.
Even more than those aforementioned players, Hiroki Itō and Kim Min-jae are both on the list of players that the club wants Eberl to sell. Given their respective salaries and Itō’s injury history, it might not be a smooth process for the seasoned executive:
Bayern is also looking to part ways with Hiroki Ito and Minjae Kim, but no buyers have been found so far. According to AZ, Alphonso Davies wants to stay despite the signing of Brown and fight for his starting spot. So far this transfer window, Bayern has already sold Daniel Peretz (FC Southampton), Alexander Nübel (Beşiktaş Istanbul), and Jonah Kusi-Asare (FC Fulham). Noel Aseko, who is headed to Eintracht Frankfurt, is expected to be the next player to leave. The club has taken in a good 20 million euros in transfer fees, and that’s not expected to be the end of it.
Eberl has got some work to do, eh?
