Jeremy Stephens missed weight for UFC 328.
Not a great look for a 39-year-old veteran who is tied for most losses in the history of the promotion at 19, especially considering all the complaining “Lil Heathen” was doing earlier this week during his media appearances. Stephens (29-22, 1 NC) took UFC to task for its penny-pinching bonus structure, claiming it was no improvement over “Dana’s duffel bag” from the early days of backstage payouts.
Stephens has also lost two straight and eight of his last
10, getting stopped in four of those losses.
During the UFC 328 early weigh ins, Stephens tipped the scale at 160 pounds, four pounds over the lightweight limit when factoring the extra pound afforded in non-title fights. Opponent King Green, “Lil Heathen” is expected to remain on the card opposite King Green, but will face a significant financial penalty ahead of their May 9 showdown at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, payable directly to Green.
