Taking the mound for the Giants will be Landen Roupp, who will enter today’s game with both a chorus of boos and a 4.15 ERA, 3.00 FIP, with 89 strikeouts to 33 walks in 80.1 innings pitched. His last start was in the Giants’ 4-3 loss to the Miami Marlins on Friday, in which he allowed two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and a walk in six innings.
Taking the mound for the A’s will
be left-hander Jeffrey Springs, who enters today’s game with a 5.55 ERA, 5.71 FIP, with 72 strikeouts to 27 walks in 82.2 innings. Springs also leads the league in the most home runs allowed this season with 21. His last start was in the Athletics’ 12-11 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, in which he allowed six runs on four hits with four strikeouts and four walks in three and two thirds innings.
