Bayern, Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, PSG interested in Vinicius Junior (The Boot Room)
Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain have all — allegedly — been notified that Vinicius Junior will be available next summer:
TBR Football understands that both Arsenal and Liverpool have been informed about Vinicius Junior’s uncertain future at Real Madrid. TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Real have now made it clear to Vinicius that if a new deal is not agreed by next summer – by which point he’ll have just 12 months left on his
contract – he will be sold.
In addition, sources have confirmed that there are some concerns from Vinicius’ camp regarding his role under Xabi Alonso. Indeed, TBR Football understands that Chelsea and Man City have been told that Vinicius could be open to a move to the Premier League if such an opportunity arose.
Arsenal and Liverpool have been informed about the ongoing situation, as have Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Although, the communication has not been instigated by the clubs, but like with any world talent, these clubs do want to be kept informed. Sharing more insight into the situation, Bailey believes there are some real issues around Vinicius and his future.
“Florentino Perez loves Vinicius Junior but there are concerns within the club about whether he is going to sign this new deal. It is hard to imagine Vinicius not being at Madrid but sources are insisting this possibility. The coming months are going to be intriguing but the basic point is that Real won’t allow him to go into the final 12 months of his deal and potentially look at a free transfer.”
It would seem that Bayern Munich would be a longshot to land the Brazilian attacker.
Musiala said it took a while to get over EURO 2024 (GQ via @iMiaSanMia)
Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala recently spoke about Germany’s nightmare ending at EURO 2024 and the missed handball call on Spain’s Marc Cucurella.
Musiala said that it took him a long time to get over it.
“It took a while. Who knows how things would have gone if we’d been awarded the penalty. But there’s no point dwelling on it for too long. I can’t change it now and just had to try to put the defeat out of my system as quickly as possible. And at the next tournament, we’ll try to get back to the top,” said Musiala.
Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: Bayern Munich vs. Werder Bremen (Bundesliga)
Bayern Munich will host Werder Bremen in a Bundesliga match that — on paper — looks a little lopsided.
Okay, a lot lopsided.
The Bavarians are scorching hot and Werder Bremen has a slew of injuries, which makes for what could be a very tough challenge against a Bayern Munich team than can just wear down the opposition.
Let’s get into it — this is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
- What to watch for with Werder Bremen. Die Werderaner are banged up, but does still have some talent. Will it be enough to shock Bayern Munich? We doubt it.
- A look at Bayern Munich’s injury situation.
- A guess at Bayern Munich’s starting XI.
- A prediction on the match.
De Jong, Barca getting close on new deal (ESPN)
FC Barcelona could be getting close to a new contract with midfielder Frenkie de Jong:
An agreement is close to being reached between Barcelona and midfielder Frenkie de Jong over a new contract, reports Mundo Deportivo. It is reported that the 28-year-old has received a three-year proposal and, despite being offered a lower salary, he is happy with the terms and willing to continue at the club. De Jong is a key player for manager Hansi Flick, having started four games so far this season.
Camavinga out of Real? (CaughtOffside’s Mark Brus)
Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United are all interested in Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, whose role has been somewhat reduced under Xabi Alonso:
Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United are all interested in a potential transfer move for €80m-rated Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. Capable of playing defensive midfield or left-back, it seems Camavinga’s future is now in some doubt, according to what my sources have told me.
The Frenchman is not necessarily definitely heading for the Madrid exit, but his situation has changed under new manager Xabi Alonso.

Tighe doesn’t think Kane is a natural fit for Barca (ESPN)
At least one analyst doubts that Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane would be as a good a fit with FC Barcelona as Robert Lewandowski has been for the Catalans. ESPN’s Sam Tighe has at least some doubt that Kane’s style would be a fit for Hansi Flick:
From a reputational standpoint, Kane and Barcelona look like a good match. An elite striker of interest to an elite club? Makes sense.
But from a tactical standpoint, you might start to question a few things. After all, this Barça team, led by Hansi Flick, are pressing demons; putting Kane in that system and asking him to press as they do would be like asking a fish to swim out of water.
Watching Kane these days, for both England and Bayern Munich, is an odd experience. The 32-year-old drops really, really, really deep to get the ball, at times standing close to the center backs to receive short passes; while off the ball, he’s pretty stationary — far from the kind of frenetic blurs Flick tends to prefer.
It’s notable that despite a five-year age gap in Kane’s favor, 37-year-old Robert Lewandowski (6.38km) easily out-sprinted the Englishman (4.74km) in league play last year, across a very similar number of minutes, per Gradient Sports.
There’s no doubt Kane could provide the goals and moments Barcelona require from their No. 9, but in such a finely-tuned, aggressive, energetic system, would he fit in?
Müller harbors no ill-will towards Bayern even after unwanted exit (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk via @iMiaSanMia)
Thomas Müller is not gong to hold a grudge against Bayern Munich — at least not publicly — for how his exit was handled:
Were you disappointed by the way your career at FC Bayern ended?
Müller: “No , I wasn’t disappointed. As I already mentioned in my letter at the beginning of April, the communication regarding the end of my contract wasn’t exactly optimal. I also told the people in charge that I didn’t like it.”
You went into talks with the club wanting to continue playing for another year, as Max Eberl had suggested in a press conference in early January.
Müller: “Yes, the decision that I wouldn’t be getting a new contract came as a surprise to me at that point and given the previous communication. However, these are already very old stories, and all parties have already commented on them in detail.”
