Bayern Munich held on to win 1-0 despite Wolfsburg continuously attacking their goal. Jonas Urbig and Michael Olise were the difference makers in an intense duel. Tom Bischof, who had a decent game himself, gave his thoughts on the match (via Bayern’s official website):
His wicked shot that nearly resulted in a goal
“We agreed that I would get a shot off – that’s how we planned it and we executed it well. It annoys me, I would have been very happy.”
Harry Kane’s missed penalty and Bayern’s overall performance
“Harry is allowed to miss sometimes. Wolfsburg could have scored five goals – that wasn’t good from
us. The gaps were too big; in the second half, we played together more, made them run more. That was the mistake in the first half. It’s always bad when you concede a lot of chances and goals.”
Jonas Urbig’s massive performance
“It’s amazing how he fills in for Manu whenever he gets the chance. He has a fantastic presence. He has to be taken to the World Cup.”
