The Kansas City Chiefs emerged from the Week 4 battle with the Las Vegas Raiders undefeated, with a bye week ahead. It’s well-timed, considering the short-term injury to wide receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring) and the long-term injury of wide receiver Tyquan Thornton (ankle).
The Chiefs will have to adjust the game plan around these two injuries by the next time they hit the field against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6. However, one former Chiefs receiver is available to sign as a free agent, and
the possibility feels more likely by the day.

Chiefs interested in adding wide receiver Tyreek Hill to roster: Sources | The Athletic
In the wake of those injuries, the Chiefs have already reached out to Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, to express their interest. They’d have to be satisfied with the receiver’s recovery, but there would likely be no other obstacles on the organization’s end. His tenure in Kansas City ended on reasonably good terms, and people inside the organization believe he would fit in well with the current team.
After Thornton’s injury, Hill posted “hm” on his X account.
Following the victory over the Raiders, several prominent Chiefs players said they’d be in favor of Hill’s return.
Five things that stood out about the Chiefs’ win vs. the Raiders in Las Vegas | The Kansas City Star
The special teams had special moments.
The best defensive moment of the game actually came on a special-teams tackle. Jeffrey Bassa punched the ball out from Darake Young on a kickoff immediately after the Chiefs took the lead in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs scored one play later for a two-score lead.
Matt Araiza, the punter, finished as the Chiefs’ second-leading rusher. How? He kept a punt and ran for 12 yards after the Raiders inexplicably dropped four players deep into the secondary to block.
NFL Week 4: Big takeaways, questions and fantasy spin from Sunday’s games | ESPN
This stat might seem unbelievable, but it’s true: The Chiefs haven’t sacked a quarterback in the past three weeks. This is a troubling trend since the Chiefs invested in improving their pass rush in the offseason, including selecting defensive tackle Peter Woods and defensive end R Mason Thomas in the first two rounds of April’s draft. — Nate Taylor
The terrifying, unbeaten Chiefs would like you to know your predictions were wrong | The Guardian
As for the 4-0 Chiefs, they are officially back to the top of the NFL after a disastrous 6-11 2025 season. Everybody who picked other teams to make the Super Bowl (and that includes just about everybody) may want to check those opinions at the door. Mahomes isn’t the force who blew away opponents at his peak, but he has been careful with the ball this season. He only has two interceptions to go alongside his seven touchdown passes, and is still unflappable on third downs.

9. Opening-Drive Streak Comes to an End
The Chiefs had scored on each of their first three opening drives this season (two touchdowns, one field goal). However, the offense began the day with a turnover on downs after Khyiris Tonga and Kenneth Walker III were stuffed up the middle on consecutive plays.
It only took Vegas four plays on its opening possession to get onto the board and kick off the scoring. Surely, this is a trend that Eric Bieniemy will want to erase moving forward.

NFL looking into official apparently cursing at Cardinals’ McBride | ESPN
“This kind of behavior from an official towards a player is unacceptable,” Tretter wrote. “Players are consistently held accountable when the roles are reversed. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard.”
The NFL Referees Association did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
The interaction took place with just under five minutes left after officials did not call a pass interference or illegal contact penalty on New York’s Dru Phillips, who made contact with McBride before the ball arrived from Jacoby Brissett on a third-and-2 play.
Jim Harbaugh backs Mike McDaniel after Chargers fall to 0-4: ‘His job is not in jeopardy’ | NFL.com
Justin Herbert threw two more interceptions and was sacked four times on Sunday. His six INTs and 12 sacks through four weeks are both tied for second most in the NFL. Herbert is the first Chargers quarterback with at least six interceptions and 10 sacks through the team’s first four games of a season since Ryan Leaf in 2000. His six INTs are the most through four games in his career, and his 12 sacks are tied for the most.
Herbert continues to look uncomfortable in the offense, and his interceptions right to two different linebackers underscore that he’s not seeing or feeling things well in McDaniel’s offense. Still, the QB backed his OC after the latest loss.
Minkah Fitzpatrick picks off Bears for Jets’ first interception since 2024 season | Yahoo! Sports
It was the team’s first interception in 636 pass attempts faced — the longest streak without an interception in NFL history. They didn’t log a single interception in the entire 2025 season, meaning this is the team’s first pick under head coach Aaron Glenn.
Safety Ashtyn Davis, now with the San Francisco 49ers, was the last Jets player to intercept a ball, nabbing two picks against Tyler Huntley in the team’s 2024 regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins. That was Jan. 5, 2025 — 637 days ago.

Andy Reid on Chiefs’ offensive line change: ‘That’s between Kingsley and I’
“Before you guys ask, that’s between Kingsley and I,” Reid said. “But we’ll figure it out and down the road, we’ll be better as a team for it and Kingsley will be better for it.”
Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star followed up with Reid, who responded snippily when asked about the major shakeup.
“I might have stuttered when I said that,” Reid said before reiterating that the situation is between Suamataia and him. McDowell asked for clarification on whether the action was for disciplinary or performance reasons.
