The Baltimore Ravens will look to win their fifth game in a row this Sunday as they take on the New York Jets. The staff of Baltimore Beatdown gives their bold predictions for the AFC clash.
In Lamar Jackson’s return home, we finally see the Ravens put up 40 points once more. The run game struggles against an above-average run defense, but Jackson finds his form once more against a man-blitzing defense. Jackson shreds the Jets for 300-plus yards, spreading the ball out with nine different players
recording a catch in this game. Isaiah Likely, in particular, is big in this one, as Baltimore focuses on him to improve their red zone efficiency, catching three touchdowns.
Consequently, the Ravens’ defense, which has been so stout, takes a step back this week. Tyrod Taylor and Adonai Mitchell combine for magical performances. It won’t be a trend for Baltimore, but a spark from the quarterback change fuels New York to a 30-point game. The Ravens still win, but it creates buzz for the potential return of Joe Burrow on Thursday Night Football. Baltimore wins 42-31. – Zach Canter
The Ravens continue rolling against the flailing Jets on Sunday. Lamar Jackson is efficient through the air after an uncharacteristic two-interception performance against the Cleveland Browns last week, but it is the ground game that beats the Jets into submission over the course of four quarters. Derrick Henry has his best game since Week 1, rushing for over 150 yards and two long touchdowns. Zay Flowers has a big day as well, crossing 100 receiving yards and finding the end zone for the first time since Week 1 with Sauce Gardner no longer in the picture for New York.
Baltimore’s defense continues to look like a different unit from the one that started the season, as they force two more turnovers and get to Tyrod Taylor with blitzes throughout the game. Kyle Hamilton comes away with his first interception of the season while continuing to dominate near the line of scrimmage. The Ravens improve to 6-5 with a 28-13 victory over the Jets. – Dustin Cox
Ravens fans have been begging for their team to finally throttle an inferior opponent, and this week, they’ll finally get their wish. Todd Monken moves back into the quick passing game that kept the offense moving against Minnesota, but Lamar Jackson takes a few more deep shots this time around. One will go to DeAndre Hopkins and another to Devontez Walker, but neither will get all the way in the end zone, forcing the Ravens to get in the end zone the hard way. Monken doesn’t pull any rabbits out of his hat this week, but he does spread the offense out and find ways to score in the air.
On defense, the Ravens give up some chunk plays to Breece Hall and Mason Taylor, but Kyle Hamilton forces one turnover near the line of scrimmage and one of his fellow DBs secures an interception down the field. That will be just one part of Baltimore dominating the field position battle, setting them up for a tidy, efficient 34-13 win. – Nikhil Mehta
