The arguments about what the Cleveland Browns should do
in the NFL draft are almost over. Just six days until the first round of the 2026 NFL draft kicks off with the Browns holding two selections in the first round. At this point, most believe that Cleveland GM Andrew Berry will decide between trading down, drafting a left tackle, or selecting a wide receiver with the sixth overall pick.In many ways, the 2026 draft class is full of blessings and curses for the Browns. Drafting, in general, is an inexact
science with more misses than regular starters in every round but the first. This year’s draft doesn’t have the big names, but it is a deep draft overall.
We know Cleveland fans are well-versed in the NFL draft and are generally locked in on all of their team’s picks and most of the draft, overall. Here are some blessings and curses for the Browns going into the 2026 NFL draft, but it is far from an exhaustive list. Which is where you come in, down in the comment section.

2026 NFL draft – The Browns Blessings
- A deep, varied draft at the two key positions that the Cleveland roster needs to address
- Wide receiver
- Offensive tackle
- Having two first-round picks is good in any draft, including this year, where Berry can be really creative with trades or get a player in the mid20s that they may have graded near the Top 10 of prospects
- Top prospects that other teams might be looking to trade up for are not at positions of need for Cleveland
- Extra picks in a deep draft
- With the draft in Pittsburgh, Steelers fans have to hear the Browns name called a lot
- A weird blessing, but I like to think of them hating that
- With the draft somewhat close, Cleveland fans can make the trip over easily
- Almost any offensive selection should help the team, especially in the first two days
- Browns fans having a few offensive players to get excited about will be a nice change
- First hint of how Todd Monken’s presence impacts the draft, long-term decision-making
2026 NFL draft – The Browns Curses
- Only one top-flight QB prospect
- Winning the last two games of 2025 means Cleveland is not in a position to select that one top QB
- Lack of a certain franchise left tackle prospect
- Lack of a certain franchise wide receiver prospect
- The elite prospects either play positions that are not as valuable, or positions where the Browns have some quality already
- 5 other teams also have two first-round picks, including the Jets with picks 2 and 16
- Way too many Steelers fans and Pittsburgh-related content throughout the draft
- With Berry still in charge of the draft, Cleveland fans will have (well-earned) skepticism about pretty much every pick and decision
What are your Browns-related blessings and curses for the 2026 NFL draft?
