What a way to do it. Sure, Lennart Karl had scored in a friendly for the Bayern Munich senior team. Sure, he had come very close multiple times in various matches so far this season. But the moment the ball
hit the back of the net against Club Brugge in the Champions League, Karl had finally netted his first goal for the Bavarians. And what a goal it was, too.
But rather than having this writer walk you through the goal, it might be better to have the goalscorer himself do so. Asked about his goal after the match, the former Eintracht Frankfurt youth player explained every detail: “I found myself in a good position in attacking midfield, got the ball, my first touch was perfect and then I got in my mode,” Karl said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “One trick to get past one player and the shot presented itself. I’m not sure if the keeper could have saved it but it looked good. I’ll take it.”
I think a lot of players would take scoring that kind of wonderful goal. Let alone youngsters making their full Champions League debut at 17. If he can muster up the consistency to do this kind of thing regularly, Karl could have a very bright future.
