Despite two drastically different seasons, both Maryland lacrosse programs shared a positive spotlight Thursday, combining for eight total USA Lacrosse All-American nods.
Maryland women’s lacrosse had five honorees, highlighted by first-team
All-Americans Kori Edmondson and JJ Suriano. Despite a slight production drop-off, Edmondson’s presence has been undeniable in 2026. The senior was recently selected as the No. 4 overall pick in the inaugural WLL draft and has 44 goals to her name heading into the NCAA Tournament.
Suriano nabbed her inagural first-team spot in what has been an impressive uptick from her sophomore campaign. The goalkeeper holds a 51.7% save percentage and looks to lead the Terps to their 16th national title.
Lauren LaPointe and Kayla Gilmore landed on the All-American third team, recognizing a pair of breakout seasons. LaPointe has been the de facto quarterback of Maryland’s offense, touting a team-leading 59 goals on the year. Gilmore, meanwhile, has excelled in the draw circle, corralling 106 draw controls in her sophomore campaign.
Defender and WLL draftee Maddy Sterling also earned an All-American honorable mention following an impressive senior year. She looks to command Maryland’s backline in its second-round match Sunday.
On the men’s side, the three honorees were headlined by a second-team mention for senior AJ Larkin. The long-stick midfielder made an impact despite limited starts in 2026, grabbing 40 ground balls and causing eight turnovers across his final year as a Terp.
Second-team All-American Henry Dodge, however, will return to the circle after being granted another year of eligibility Wednesday. Dodge won 68% of his faceoff attempts in 2026 and will likely return as Maryland’s primary circle option in his last ride as a Terp.
Drafted in the final round of the PLL draft, attackman Leo Johnson grabbed an All-American honorable mention on his way to play for the Utah Archers. Johnson led Maryland’s offense all year, topping its stat sheet with 29 goals on a 36.7% shooting percentage with 18 assists.
None of Maryland’s four other PLL draftees made the All-American cut.
