The National Football League is smack-dab in the middle of the summer lull period. The Miami Dolphins won’t have their full team together until training camp starts on July 28th, but in the meantime, there is still plenty to talk about regarding our favorite South Florida football team.
On Monday, ESPN released an article ranking all running backs in the NFL. The list was compiled by Jeremy Fowler, but was determined by a league-wide vote of executives, coaches and scouts. De’Von Achane — Miami’s
freshly paid back — made the top-10, yet he came in at just #8 overall.
- Bijan Robinson — Atlanta Falcons
- Jahmyr Gibbs — Detroit Lions
- Saquon Barkley — Phildelphia Eagles
- Christian McCaffrey — San Francisco 49ers
- Jonathan Taylor — Indianapolis Colts
- Derrick Henry — Baltimore Ravens
- James Cook III — Buffalo Bills
- De’Von Achane — Miami Dolphins
- Kenneth Walker III — Kansas City Chiefs
- Breece Hall — New York Jets
In 2025, Achane’s 1,350 yards rushing were the 5th most in the NFL. His 5.7 yards per carry led the league, and was a full half yard better than the two next closest running backs (James Cook, Derrick Henry; 5.2 YPC). He caught 67 passes — good for the 6th most by a running back last season — while totaling 488 receiving yards, which ranked 4th out of all NFL backs. His 12 total touchdowns tied for 10th most from a running back in 2025.
In my opinion, those numbers should see Achane ranking no lower than 6th on ESPN’s list — and a strong case for 5th could be made as well. So, what do you think? Is #8 too low for Miami’s speedster? Should he be ranked higher? Lower? Let me know in the comments below or on Twitter/X at @MBrave13. Fins up!
