The Jets conducted their second practice of training camp in 2026 on Thursday, and the big winner of the day was their top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, edge rusher David Bailey.
So we can probably start carving out Bailey’s bust for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
Or maybe we can say it’s nice that his training camp is off to a strong start. I’ll let you choose which of the two is more appropriate.
Either way, Bailey is the most important player on the Jets defense in 2026. The team needs him to be an immediate impact player. There aren’t many other players with significant pass rushing skills on this defense. In many ways I think the success or failure of the defense will be based on whether Bailey plays up to his Draft status. He certainly has the skills to be a star, and this early practice is a reminder of that.
