The Chicago Bears have now officially announced the two roster moves that were reported over the last couple of days.
Wide receiver Kaden Davis and linebacker Tony Fields II were both signed to the offseason roster after successful stints in the UFL. To make room for them, they waived linebacker Dominique Hampton and kicker Gabriel Plascencia.
Hampton was on the Bears’ practice squad for a bit in 2025 after beginning his career as a fifth-round pick of the Washington Commanders in 2024.
Plascencia was
a 2026 undrafted free agent from San Diego State, and his release leaves just Cairo Santos on the roster at kicker.
With the players all off before reporting to training camp in July, things should be relatively quiet over the next several weeks. There could be another minor roster move, and at some point, third-round pick Sam Roush will sign his rookie contract, but at this time of the NFL calendar, no news is good news.
