Welcome back!
Before we jump into the games, let’s run through some of the offseason real quick. The ping pong balls didn’t fall The Brooklyn Way, but they moved onto the Draft and ultimately launched the franchise into Year Two of the rebuild… with their own draft picks. Five to be exact.
The team flipped Cam Johnson for Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 unprotected first round pick. Cam Thomas and the Nets were in a stalemate all summer and he’s set to become a free agent after this year. Joe Tsai said
the Nets are tanking without literally saying the Nets are tanking.
And here we are today… Opening Night!
The Nets are projected at 19.5 wins, they’re the youngest team in the league, and they have their own first-round pick. Combine that with a good head coach, a hungry player in Thomas, and a bunch of young players… who knows.
