The NWSL kicks off today with the Portland Thorns traveling to ‘Rowdy Audi’ to take on the Washington Spirit at 8 p.m. EST on Prime Video.
The league has released the availability report and both teams will start the season with a few key absences.
For Portland Thorns they will be missing midfielder Deyna Castellanos (hip) and Mackenzie Arnold (international duty).
This will also be Robert Vilahamn’s first match as the head coach of the Portland Thorns.
For Washington Spirit they’ll have USWNT defender
Kate Wiesner (calf) and Canada Youth National Team defender Élisabeth Tsé (calf) out as well.
In a rematch of the 2025 semifinals, each team will be looking to start the season off with a victory.
