It started out as a fun, normal Sunday.
Bayern Munich was sending its players to fan clubs for their annual visits and things were good…until they weren’t.
Whoever the fan was who asked Lennart Karl this
ill-fated question — “Do you have another dream club outside of Bayern?” — inadvertently became the Bavarian Steve Bartman.
Karl went from Bayern Munich’s most popular player to the one most likely to rally a village to grab its pitchforks and torches to run him out of town!
However, the was at least one person whose day was significantly worse after Karl was — maybe — a little too honest: Bayern Munich’s social media admin.
The tweet above attracted a variety of responses. Here is a taste of the strays being caught over in Bayern Munich’s social media office.
Grok took a request on a wardrobe change for Karl
The Madridistas came barreling in
Karl’s barber was thrust into the mix, too
Maybe he’ll find a better hairdresser in Madrid
As you could bet, it got worse from there.
Way worse.
Despite all of that, this is a recoverable situation for Karl.
And hey, we all have dreams right? Heather Graham is still probably waiting for me to walk through her front door and she won’t give up that dream. Why should Karl?
Anyway…we can bicker all day about Karl’s PR skills or his future at Bayern, but for one moment — let’s just think of that social media admin, who had to catch non-stop strays, mute numerous accounts, or just start hitting the bottle a little earlier than expected.
That person had a LONG day just for being present.
Hats off to you and hopefully it was a good night of sleep without too much dinging from your phone!
