After a Week 1 win over the New Orleans Saints came down to the wire, the Detroit Lions travel to Western New York to take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season. Coming off of a close win against the Houston Texans in Week 1, Buffalo will be looking to get their second win of the year in what will be the first regular season game played in their brand new stadium. To preview the matchup, my good friend Meko Scott and I are back with another episode of, “Before the Roar.”
From the beginning,
we dive into the player that really makes everything happen in Buffalo, quarterback Josh Allen. As you probably know if you are reading this, Allen is one of the best players in the league, and has been for some time now. Simply put, he can do it all. Extend plays with his size and speed, make tight-window throws with the howitzer that is attached to his right shoulder. Anything you want from a modern-day NFL quarterback, Allen delivers in spades. Combine that with the fact that Buffalo’s skill-players are among some of the best in the league, and it’s easy to see why Buffalo’s offense has been so dynamic over the course of the last several years.
On the defensive side of the ball, we discuss the Bills’ talented defensive line, and how their transition to a 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard could impact how the Lions approach Thursday night’s game.
