On the same day Tommy Dreamer announced his departure from TNA, a day after Tessa Blanchard requested and was granted her release from the Anthem-owned promotion, within weeks of the departures of Steve Maclin, Myla Grace and Dani Luna, and with another World champ rumored to be WWE-bound in Mike Santana… Sami Callihan is also done with TNA and Impact Wrestling.
PWInsider reported it this afternoon (Weds., June 17), and Callihan confirmed it himself just a few moments ago.
Thought I was getting called
today to be offered a position in creative… nope.
I’ve parted ways with TNA.
Oh well… onward to the next adventure.

TNA’s Canadian parent company, Anthem, issued the following statement around the same time. It confirms TNA’s recent “workforce reduction” and spins it as a net benefit for their product — and of course, its own bottom line.
TNA Wrestling today announced a workforce reduction, designed to streamline operations and sharpen strategic focus and profitability.
TNA’s creative leadership team will see an immediate shift. Tommy Dreamer, who has worked in TNA’s Creative and Talent Relations Departments, is leaving the company as TNA and Dreamer mutually agreed to part ways.
TNA Wrestling also has come to terms on the release of Tessa Blanchard.
We wish Tessa, Tommy and others the best in their future endeavors.
The promotion has been through quite a bit over the past few years, including the departure of popular president Scott D’Amore, the arrival of current president Carlos Silva from outside the pro wrestling world, the start of its partnership with WWE, and its new media rights deal with AMC.
We’ll see where it goes from here.
