The Texas Longhorns added to their 2026 recruiting class on Saturday with the pledge of Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy center Coleman Elkins, an Austin native who previously played at St. Andrew’s Episcopal.
“I wanted a place where I could keep developing and challenge myself every day,” Elkins told 247Sports. “Coach Miller and the staff made it clear that Texas is that place. I’m looking forward to getting in the weight room, getting stronger, and going up against great players. Doing that in Austin, where I grew up, makes it even better. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a Longhorn.”
The 6’10, 240-pounder is a developmental prospect who started playing basketball three years ago but shows promise with length, athleticism, and burgeoning shooting ability from distance.
An unranked recruit who is a redshirt candidate for the 2026-27 season, Elkins also held offers from Indiana State, LeMoyne, Lehigh, Maine, Manhattan, and Northeastern.
Elkins is the third member of the 2026 recruiting class for first-year Texas head coach Sean Miller, joining Austin Westlake small forward Bo Odgen and Studio City (Calif.) Harvard Westlake combo guard Joe Sterling.
